Vandals target KC church with racist symbols

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KSHB) – Harmony Fortress of Hope Church members found racist feedback and symbols early Sunday morning after their church was vandalized.

Parishioners have been met with a swastika, KKK, and the N-phrase spray-painted on the entrance doorways earlier than the eight:00 a.m. Sunday service.

The Kansas Metropolis Police Division says suspects broke right into a merchandising machine, the monetary workplace and lit a chair on hearth. Bomb and Arson investigators, together with the ATF are investigating.

Kansas Metropolis Councilman Quentin Lucas tweeted that the vandalism wouldn’t cease the morning providers. “Fools assume they’re gonna hold us from worshipping this morning,” and “Racist vandals and arsonists not slowing down 8am service at @concordhope church,” he tweeted. 

The hearth division was referred to as to the church at 11050 W. Longview Pkwy, about 6:24 this morning on a fireplace alarm. Studies indicated a sprinkler within the workplace was activated. There’s no phrase on if the 2 incidents are related.

Church was held at eight:00 a.m., and one other service was scheduled at 10:00 a.m.
