WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The push continues to be on for passenger rail service to return to Wichita.
A 3-day convention simply wrapped in Previous City Wednesday. Leaders from cities and states which have Amtrak service introduced updates on their service and plans for enlargement.
For the Wichita space, the plan is to have Amtrak service return to downtown’s Union Station.
“The market of the youth and even retired individuals they’re driving these type of selections and say that is how we maintain our metropolis, it’s the forty eighth largest metropolis, we have to be investing in that or we don’t sustain with the remainder of the tendencies which might be happening on the planet at the moment,” stated Pete Meitzner, Wichita Metropolis Council.
Meitzner stated he feels extra assured that passenger rail service will come to Wichita than he was up to now, however he wouldn’t put a time-frame on a choice.
