Ohio man accused of burning cat alive

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — Butler County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a person they are saying burned a cat alive utilizing lighter fluid.

Sheriff Richard Jones says a warrant for cruelty to animals, a fifth-diploma felony, has been issued for Kevin L. Sullivan, 32, of Middletown.

The incident occurred on Sept. 19. The cat was so badly injured that an officer with the Middletown Police Division shot it to place it out of its distress, Jones says.

Jones doesn’t say how officers have been notified concerning the cat being harmed, however says Sullivan initially lied about his involvement.

“That is completely disturbing and this man undoubtedly must be off the streets,” Jones says in a information launch. “I do not perceive individuals who hurt or torture a defenseless animal, it’s a very cowardly factor to do.”

Butler County is situated simply north of Cincinnati.
