IAB cop in hot water after gun stolen from unlocked car

An Inner Affairs Bureau cop who left her gun, bulletproof vest, police radio and different gear in her unlocked automotive has been suspended — after a thief stole all of it, police sources stated.

Milagros Torres, 38, parked her 2016 Honda Civic on Waverly Ave. in Clinton Hill early Saturday. When she returned to her automotive that afternoon, she discovered it ransacked, and the trunk emptied, the sources stated.

The thief took Torres’ Smith & Wesson service weapon and three magazines of ammunition, in addition to her bullet-proof vest, division-issued radio and telephone, handcuffs, baton and pepper spray, sources stated.

A safety digital camera caught the thief in motion, sources stated.

The thirteen-yr NYPD veteran thought she had locked the automotive, however police discovered no indicators it had been damaged into, sources stated.

Milagros was suspended for “failure to safeguard division property,” sources stated.
