Hundreds of thousands without power as storm batters East Coast

HARTFORD, Conn. — Extreme climate is hitting the East Coast with damaging winds and torrential rains.

Southern New England seemed to be struggling the brunt of the injury.

Eversource reported greater than one hundred thirty,000 Connecticut clients with out energy early Monday, with that quantity anticipated to develop.

The Nationwide Climate Service says the storm will proceed via the early morning hours.

Flash flood and excessive wind warnings have been issued throughout the area. Meteorologists say elements of Rhode Island and Massachusetts might see wind gusts of as much as 70 mph.

The Meriden Human Society in Connecticut put out a name for volunteers on its Fb web page Sunday night time to assist cope with flooding in its canine kennels.
