LONDON — British paramedics say a person virtually died when a fish he had simply caught jumped down his throat.
South Western Ambulance Service says medics have been referred to as to the pier in Boscombe, southern England, on Oct. 5 and located a 28-yr-previous man in cardiac arrest.
They have been advised he had put the 6-inch Dover sole over his mouth as a joke, nevertheless it wriggled free and jumped down his throat, blocking his airway.
Paramedic Matt Harrison stated he tried to take away the fish with forceps “though the fish’s barbs and gills have been getting caught on the best way again up.” On the sixth try he managed to extract it entire.
The ambulance service stated Thursday the person, who has not been recognized, suffered “no lasting results” from the mishap.
