WESTWOOD, N.J. — A New Jersey man has been accused of placing the teenage coach of his son’s flag soccer staff in a chokehold after the son was rotated out of the quarterback place.
Westwood police Det. Warren Morrell says it occurred Saturday in entrance of about seventy five individuals at a recreation for six- to eight-yr-olds.
League commissioner Fred Kritzker tells NJ.com that Peter Iappelli, of Closter, received upset after his son was eliminated and he then put the sixteen-yr-previous coach in a chokehold.
Iappelli was given a summons on Wednesday to seem in courtroom later this month. His lawyer is unavailable to remark for him.
Kritzer says Iappelli apologized for his conduct in an e mail. He says the household, of Closter, has been banned from the league.
