Cuyahoga Heights village council race, determined by coin flip, stands after rec…


CLEVELAND, Ohio — Election outcomes for the Cuyahoga Heights village council will stand after a recount. 

Voters have been requested to vote for six out of 9 candidates for village council positions. The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections recounted outcomes when totals have been inside a half of a %. 

The winners have been Todd Bloam, Matthew Schoeffler, Cheryl Lee Harris, Renato Contipelli, Barbara Ann Biro and Rick Centa. Centa tied with Lois Henley, every getting 108, or 10.25 %, of the vote.

Centa was chosen by a coin flip at a Board of Elections assembly Nov. 20. Deciding a tie by coin toss is written within the Ohio Revised Code. 

One precinct, totaling 278 ballots, was hand counted. The recount totals matched the official totals.

The outcomes are:

Barbara Ann Biro: one hundred fifteen (10.ninety one %)

Todd Bloam: 136 (12.ninety %) 

Rick Centa: 108 (10.25 %) – gained by coin toss

Renato Contipelli: 124 (eleven.seventy six %)

Marilyn C. Duszynski: ninety five (9.01 %) 

Cheryl Lee Harris: 129 (12.24 %) 

Lois Henley: 108 (10.25 %) 

Cindy A. Krenisky: 86 (eight.sixteen %) 

Matthew J. Schoeffler: 153 (14.fifty two %)
