Consumerist.com was shuttered as a stand-alone website on Monday, triggering an indignant blast from one of many prime editors who blamed mismanagement for the closure.
The location, operated by Shopper Stories, broke the dangerous information to readers in a brief story, saying it will be “our final publish” after 12 years as a stand-alone website.
“We’re deeply pleased with all of the work we’ve executed on behalf of shoppers, from exposing shady practices by secretive cable corporations to pushing for motion towards dodgy payday lenders,” the unsigned publish stated.

However Deputy Government Editor Chris Morran blasted Marta L. Tellado, the CEO of the Shoppers Union, for shutting down the title. “I’d wish to thank @MLTellado for making @consumerist the scapegoat for her incapability to run @ConsumerReports,” he tweeted.
